RaksaBooks was born from a simple observation: India's bookstores are flooded with the same poorly written, heavily marketed books. Titles like "Epic Shit," "Make Epic Money," and "Start with Why" dominate shelves, while truly meaningful, well-written books struggle to find readers. We're here to change that.

We have two main objectives: 1) Sell really good books that most stores don't carry, and 2) Give a voice to the voiceless by helping people write books they always wanted to write but couldn't, through our book writing app that makes publishing accessible to everyone.

Our Story

RaksaBooks was born from a simple observation: India's bookstores are flooded with the same poorly written, heavily marketed books. Titles like "Epic Shit," "Make Epic Money," and "Start with Why" dominate shelves, while truly meaningful, well-written books struggle to find readers. We're here to change that.

After years of wondering what could transform India from its current challenges—poverty, overpopulation, right-wing extremism—into a better society, we tried journalism. But we realized that good books are the only way to create lasting change. The problem? Most stores sell the same low-quality content, and very few people can actually write. Some don't have time, and most who want to write find that traditional publishers make the process nearly impossible.

So we created RaksaBooks: a platform that sells really good books that most stores don't carry, and a book writing app that makes publishing accessible to everyone. We believe that by democratizing publishing and curating quality content, we can help transform Indian society, one book at a time.

Our Mission

RaksaBooks has two main objectives:

1. Sell Really Good Books

While most Indian bookstores stock the same badly written but well-marketed books (think Chetan Bhagat, "Epic Shit," "Make Epic Money"), we curate a collection of truly excellent books that most stores don't sell. We believe readers deserve quality over marketing hype. Every book in our catalog is carefully selected for its substance, writing quality, and ability to inspire meaningful thought and change.

2. Give a Voice to the Voiceless
